Welcome new Head Coach, enkay J

A new Head Coach, Niclas "enkay J" Krumhorn, joins the ranks of the ENCE CS roster.

Our main roster welcomes a new Head Coach, Niclas "enkay J" Krumhorn. Right away, enkay J joins the team at ESL Pro League Season 20 in Malta this week. However, enkay J won’t be seen standing behind the team during the matches due to the tournament’s roster lock but will focus on learning the team’s needs.

ENCE General Manager, Niklas "Willkey" Ojalainen, shares his thoughts about enkay J: “I’m happy to have my namesake as the next coach for our CS team. Niclas was the strongest candidate for the position, and I find his experience in multiple roles, such as IGL, analyst, and coach, extremely valuable. With that in mind, he can utilize all the tools and power we can harness. Coming from a German work environment, he has a good starting point for bringing more structure into our team.”

Niclas "enkay J" Krumhorn is a 35-year-old coach from Germany who has worked with teams like Sprout, BIG, and, most recently, Entropiq. In addition to coaching, enkay J has accumulated experience as a player, and helped G2 win DreamHack Masters Malmö and ESL Pro League Season 5 as their analyst. His tenure as BIG’s coach saw a standout moment when the team pulled an impressive 3-0 run at the Antwerp Major RMR, taking down FaZe — the #1 ranked team at the time — 2-0 on LAN, and qualifying for the Legend Stage.

Regarding coaching, enkay J describes his style as flexible, constantly adapting to the team’s needs while maintaining a solid tactical and strategic approach. His strengths as a coach lie in his understanding of the game and his ability to build strong team dynamics. It’s not just about in-game strategy, though — enkay J is known for being empathetic, easy to work with, and has a solid sense of humor (a rare trait, as he jokes, for a German).

“I am super excited to join such a prestigious organization as ENCE, and I feel very privileged to be here. My goal is to bring the team back to the top 10 of the world rankings. I want us to work hard, enjoy playing Counter-Strike, and improve together, day in and day out.”
