Info

Winter is here. The next stop on the ESL Pro Tour is the European event for DreamHack SC2 Masters Winter!

So far, Serral has claimed the title from the Summer Season Finals. His and Reynor's continued rivalry and the rise of Clem has toughened up the competition in Europe, resulting in less dominance for just 1 player. This season will solidify the status of whoever becomes the King of Winter, and they get to hold the crown for the remainder of 2020.

Serral has stated that he's not a huge fan of online competition, and he has found it more difficult to bring his A-game forward in the tournaments in the online era. He has been playing well but doesn't feel satisfied with the results he's gathered so far.

Serral is situated in Group D, alongside MilkiCow, PtitDrogo, Rail, souL, SouLeer, Stephano, and uThermal. The group's race distribution is very even, as it features 3 Zergs, 3 Terrans, and 2 Protoss. Serral should have little trouble making it through to the Playoffs, but players like uThermal and PtitDrogo are sure to stir up the scoreboard and make the games an exciting watch!

Group Stage:

  • 32 players in 4 groups of 8 players each, played in a Round Robin Format.
  • All matches are Bo3.
  • Top 4 players of each group advance to the Playoffs.
    • Ties are broken in the following order:
      1. Overall map difference
      2. Overall number of map wins
      3. Match wins amassed between the tied participants ('Mini-League')
      4. Map difference between the tied participants ('Mini-League')
      5. Number of map wins between the tied participants ('Mini-League')
      6. Tie breaker matches
      7. Coin toss

Playoffs:

  • 16 players in a double-elimination bracket.
  • All matches are Bo5.
  • Finals are Bo7 with a 1-0 lead for the player coming from the Winners' Bracket.
